Cement plants have a wide range of production equipment, covering the entire process from raw material processing to finished product packaging. The following is a classification of the main equipment in cement plants and a description of their functions:

1. Raw material processing equipment
crusher
Types: jaw crusher, hammer crusher, impact crusher, etc.
Function: Crushing raw materials such as limestone, clay, and iron ore into small particles to facilitate subsequent grinding.
Pre-homogenization yard equipment
Stacker-reclaimer: It stacks raw materials into layers and reclaims them through cross-sectional extraction, ensuring uniform composition.
Circular/elongated pre-homogenization silo: used for storing and mixing raw materials.
Conveying equipment
Belt conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, etc., are used for raw material transportation.
II. Raw material preparation equipment
Raw material mill (raw meal mill)
Vertical roller mill (vertical mill): high efficiency and energy saving, with both grinding and drying functions.
Ball mill: a traditional equipment that crushes and grinds raw materials through the impact of steel balls.
powder selector
Dynamic powder concentrator or cyclone powder concentrator, used for separating raw material powder of qualified fineness.
Raw material homogenizing silo
Ensure the uniformity of raw material components through aerated mixing to guarantee the quality of subsequent calcination.
III. Clinker burning equipment
rotary kiln
Core equipment: long cylindrical inclined rotary kiln, with an internal temperature reaching 1450°C, for calcining raw materials to form clinker minerals (calcium silicate).
Specifications: Diameter ranging from 3 to 6 meters, length from 60 to 120 meters, and rotational speed from 0.5 to 4 rotations per minute.
Preheater system
Five-stage cyclone preheater: It utilizes the waste gas from the kiln tail to preheat the raw materials, thereby enhancing thermal efficiency.
Decomposition furnace: Located between the preheater and the rotary kiln, it completes the decomposition of carbonates in raw materials (with a decomposition rate >90%).
Grate cooler (clinker cooler)
Rapidly cool the high-temperature clinker (about 1350°C) to below 100°C, and recover the waste heat for power generation or drying purposes.
IV. Cement grinding equipment
cement mill
Ball mill or vertical mill: Grind clinker, gypsum, and admixtures (such as slag and fly ash) together to produce cement.
powder selector
High-efficiency powder concentrators (such as O-Sepa) separate cement products with qualified particle size.
cement silo
Store the ground cement and ensure stable quality through homogenization.
V. Packaging and Bulk Equipment
Cement packaging machine
Fully automatic packaging machines, such as rotary packaging machines, are used to fill cement into 50kg/bag or other specifications.
Bulk equipment
Bulk machines are directly loaded onto vehicles for large-scale transportation (such as tanker trucks for cement).
VI. Environmental protection and auxiliary equipment
Dust removal equipment
Bag filters and electrostatic precipitators: They are used to treat dust emissions from kiln tail, grinding, and other processes to meet environmental standards.
Denitration system (SCR/SNCR)
Reduce the emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the flue gas from rotary kilns.
Waste heat power generation system
Utilize the waste heat from the exhaust gas at the kiln head and kiln tail to generate electricity, thereby reducing energy consumption.
Fan and air compressor
Provide the wind power and compressed air required by the system.
Automated control system
DCS (Distributed Control System) monitors the entire process and optimizes production parameters.
VII. Other auxiliary equipment
Laboratory equipment: X-ray fluorescence analyzer (XRF), particle size analyzer, etc., used for testing raw materials and finished products.
Power equipment: transformers, distribution cabinets, etc., ensuring power supply.
Maintenance equipment: cranes, welding machines, etc., used for equipment maintenance.
