Mobile concrete batching plants are an excellent choice if you want to measure, mix and pour concrete on site. But what is the difference between a stationary concrete batching plant and a mobile concrete batching plant? Why should you consider a mobile batching plant for your project?
Stationary Batching Plants
Stationary concrete batching plants are larger than mobile concrete batching plants and therefore have a greater production capacity.
When a large project or a series of projects near a plant requires large quantities of concrete over a longer period of time, a stationary plant may be preferred.
The advantage of a stationary concrete batching plant is its economies of scale and the consistency of large batches of concrete. The disadvantage of this type of concrete batching plant is that the produced concrete needs to be transported to the pouring site using mixer trucks, and if there are many mixer trucks and the distance is long, the cost can quickly increase.
Often, when such large quantities of concrete are produced, there is an inevitable excess of waste concrete that hardens before it can be transported and used. This can be a waste of money and resources and is not the most environmentally friendly practice. It is also expensive to clean up.
Mobile batching plants are often small enough to fit on a truck trailer. This allows them to be moved to wherever concrete is being poured, essentially eliminating the need for a mixer truck. They can be moved to different locations on a job site or to an entirely different job site with relative ease.

Because of their smaller size, they usually produce smaller quantities, just enough to use on hand. This means that mobile batching plants are often more efficient and produce less waste, which also means less cleanup afterwards.
Owning a mobile concrete batching plant is also more environmentally friendly, as it produces fewer emissions than a fleet of mixer trucks delivering concrete. This is because mobile concrete batching plants make the concrete on site, while mixer trucks require their diesel engines to run continuously to prevent the concrete from setting before it is poured.
